Easy Saturday Ride

Join Cycling UK Stevenage for an easy led and swept ride to a cafe for a break and ride back to Stevenage.

These rides are suitable for acccompanied children and will be up to a maximum of 15 miles long. Avoiding the worst local hills.

Stevenage Cycling Festival

Festival kickoff event - Local people are invited to come and celebrate Stevenage’s unique cycling heritage when the town hosts round 6 of the 2018 Tour Series on Bank Holiday Monday, 28 May.

As well as the chance to see world class professional cyclists in racing action – free of charge, the day will include a host of free family entertainment including come-and-try bike sessions, health and wellbeing advice, promotional zone, free giveaways, stalls, live music, free fast karts, mascots, and photo opportunities.

The Community Zone will be based next to Holy Trinity Church at the bottom of the High Street. There will also be secure bike parking and free parking in the town centre.

Bike Week: 9-17 June Events all around town

Kicking off with a Breeze ride for Ladies and an afternoon (child friendly) Teddybears Picnic led by Cycling UK on Saturday 9 June

Sunday sees a Morning Meander by Cycling UK.

Monday has an evening ride by Cycling UK

Tuesday we double up with choices of a womens breeze ride or an evening Cycling UK ride.

Wednesday again has two choices a womens only starter ride or Cycling UK eveing run.

Thursday has two choices another womens breeze ride or Cycling UK Ride to Norton and back.

Friday, are you spotting the trend? a choice of two rides again a breeze starter ride or a slightly longer Cycling Uk evening ride.

Saturday Cycling UK lead a ride to a lovely cafe in Tewin.

Finally on Sunday is the only ride that you have to pay to enter!! - go on Challenge yourself this ride is the local equivilent of the london to brighton ride - but with much less hassle since you don't have to travel. Cycling UK have organised this rde for many years details are here.

Sunday 8 July: Tour de Stevenage – 5 mile Family Sportive

This 5 mile traffic free family ride will take you along a 5 mile loop of dedicate cycle ways under the supervision of qualified ride leaders. The route will be led, fully signposted and with mechanical support available on-route.

The route is suitable for children who are aged 7yrs plus. However, younger children can still take part but with the supervision of a responsible adult. Trailers tag along and child seats are also welcome.

Please note, the route has a number of hills and shared use paths with pedestrians and dog walkers.

Every participants will receive a finishers medal and goodie bag courtesy of our event sponsors Decathlon.

Start of Summer Specials end Mar

Cycling UK Stevenage - Challenge Cycle Rides

Four rides to choose from to mark the start of British Summer Time. New this year - Refreshment stop at Braughing Church Hall helping to raise funds for the church. Also stops at Knead Food in Great Bardfield and The Old Swan Tea Shop in Hare Street.

All rides start at Costello’s Café in Fairlands Valley Park. They take in the beautiful countryside of Hertfordshire, Essex and Suffolk visiting Thaxted, Finchingfield, Lavenham and Braughing.
