Championship Best for Niamh

Stevenage and North Herts Athletics
weekend collected 8 gold, 4 silver and 6 bronze medals between them. Performances of the weekend came from two of the U15 athletes. Niamh Day competing in her first County Championships led from 'gun to tape' in the 300m winning in a Championship Best and Personal Best of 44.25.

Running Grand Prix
A variety of events were taking place at the Bedford Autodrome on Sunday from Marathon, Half-Marathon, twenty-mile distances to name a few and a few Striders took the short journey into Bedfordshire, to race around a car racing track (and did a few laps in the process). Starting off with the 20-mile (32km) event, Peter Monk was in his final preparations for the London Marathon at the end of April and finished the course in 03-20-24, finishing 84th out of 174 runners. Also running was Alex Smith who finished in 04-00-01 (151st position).
Iris is a World Champion

Spartan IRIS HORNSEY is a world champion at 800 and 1500 metres. She also took bronze in the 400 metres.

London Landmarks Half-Marathon
The second biggest half-marathon in the British capital took place on Sunday. Greg Bradbury managed to get a personal best time at the 21km distance and finished in 01-50-12. Men's captain Daniel Sanders finished in 01-40-00 and Carly Wright in 02-30-12.

It ain't flat said JIM BROWN about the Oakley 20 mile race but it produced some excellent Spartan performances including an enormous personal best (PB) for 'Birthday Girl' ANN TRYESSOONE. She finished in 2:59:30, her first time under three hours for a '20.'
7 Marathons in 7 Days

Last week Spartan JOHN NELMS took on a challenge to run seven full marathons in seven days. The week long event is organised by Enigma running and comprises of a 26.2 mile course each day, looping around one of three lakes in Milton Keynes.
Stevenage Cycle Hub Go Ride taster - This Friday

Go-Ride is British Cycling's development programme for young riders aged 6 to 16 years. The programme provides a fun and safe way to introduce young riders to the world of cycle sport and provides a platform to improve bike handling skills.

Stevenage Cycle Hub will be holding a free 'taster' session on Friday 22nd March from 5:00 pm to 6:30 pm

If you would like your child to attend please meet at the Cycle Hub at 4:45 pm to register and don't forget to bring the following:

A bike in good condition
Helmet
Appropriate clothing
Stevenage Walking Festival

This is the seventh Stevenage Walking Festival, put together by members of Stevenage Leisure 50, North Herts Ramblers, and Stevenage Health Walks group, and with the support of Stevenage Borough Council.

With a choice of walks, walkers can walk every day for a week, all locally on their doorstep. Stevenage has some fine walking areas, both within the boundaries of the Borough, and in the surrounding countryside.
